Advocacy / support letters

Koordak provides Advocacy Support Service is a community-led and endorsed support system aimed at providing assistance and advocacy to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community. The service is designed to provide culturally appropriate support to individuals and families who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, issues such as discrimination, injustice, and social and economic disadvantage.

The service is run by volunteering members of our community who have a deep understanding of the cultural and social issues affecting their community. These community members are trained to provide support, advocacy, and referral services to those in need. They work in collaboration with other service providers, including legal, health, and social welfare services, to ensure that clients receive the support they need.

Koordak is based on the principle of self-determination, which means that the community is empowered to make decisions about the type of support and services they need. This approach ensures that the service is tailored to the specific needs of the community and is culturally appropriate.

Overall, the Koordak Support Services are a valuable resource for the community, providing vital support and advocacy to those who need it most. By working in collaboration with other service providers and empowering the community to make decisions, the service is helping to improve the lives of of our own community and promote self-determination.
